Who:
We are the only society at Keele University to directly cater for the Media Masses. Whether you are just a blogger, or a budding film director, we want the society to cater to you. MAD is all about encouraging the creative side of you - we want to help you make the most of it.
What:
MAD stands for Media, Art & Design. It has the potential to be something very special we can bring together students from all areas of media study - journalism, writing, graphic design, music tech, game design, photography, film, and whatever else is out there!
We are going to be focusing on getting training oppurtunities to justify your skill. These days, people require some form of qualification to show your competancy in digital design. There's nothing worse than being the best at Photoshop, Audition and Premiere/Final Cut Pro and to not get a media job because your Degree was in history and philosophy! There are industry standard training courses that teach you how to use these amazing programs, over a one day of classes - but they all cost around £400!
MAD is going to try and provide them at a massive discount through networking and contacts, and fundraising it is very possible.
Where:
We will be recruiting members this Refreshers fair, - lets create a creative community within keele - one that can teach its members, and help obtain commissions!
